Re: tire pressure

Inflate your tires to what it says on the sidewall. These are not car tires. They are designed to run at the inflations stated by the manufacturer.

The tire maker knows what pressure the tire is designed for. A lower pressure will make the tire sidewalls more flexible, which will cause excess heat, which will lead to shorter life and, possibly, tire failure.

Re: tire pressure

70 psi sounds right.
I'm just in the process of getting my vehicle ready for a holiday trip so I've been checking my tire pressures as well.
I've running a 1/2ton extended cap pickup w/ 16" tires and they state 65psi cold....so you're not far off that.
Anything over 50 psi is a good idea in my opinion. If you can do 70 psi I'd do it...plus you'll get a little better mileage (less rolling resistance).

Like CAT said tho'...follow what the manufacturer says. We are just giving you some feedback and not trying to replace their info.

Re: tire pressure

Whatever it states on the sidewall is what you should be using. You will see many people that did not follow this at the side of the road scratching their heads. Under inflation = over heating = tire failure.

Re: tire pressure

under inflated tires, cause excess wear on bearing, and the tires. #1 cause of tire failure.
