tire air pressure?

What PSI do you use in a 4.80 X 12 trailer tire? I noticed that my tires looked low and checked them and one was 20lbs and the other was 23lbs! This has caused some uneven tire wear(duh). They are rated for 60lbs max. The boat weight is about 1400lbs.<br /><br />thanks<br />longshot

I'd do atleast 45psi. The small tires shouldn't fluctuate too much.

Keep them at least with in 10% of maximum but not over.<br />No less than 54 psi cold.<br />However if they have dry rot/sun damage or no tread then replace them. Replacing a trailer tire on the side of the road is not something you will want to experience first hand even if you have a spare!
