The iboats forum moderators are excited to announce that at this time it appears the iboats forums posting pictures function is working once again. Though we cannot promise for how long, we're hoping for indefinitely.
only thing I can think of is to cap or plug the line while doing the swap.....
I doubt you want to do it the way I did........ I piled all of the hydraulic stuff in the bucket of my bobcat for future disposal and installed electric LOL
I just replaced mine. Bought a cheap bleeder kit from a local auto parts store, 8 bucks or so, and you can bleed them by yourself. Took me 10 min. to do both sides.
you are going to have to bleed them even if you use a clamp on the flex line so just accept thats part of the job and get a cheap kit. also think about replacing any flex lines while you are at it.
If you don't take the hose off the brake cylinder there will be no need to bleed it.
If the backing plate includes a new cylinder; there is no way around it.
Bleeding it is no big deal, don't make an issue out of it.
If the Brake plate needs replacing it is time to replace the brake fluid any way.
It doesn't last forever and needs to be change occasionally.
