TIPS on Installing a FUEL PUMP in 1994 Mariner 40HP

Hi,

Are there any tricks or tips you can share on installing a fuel pump on a 1994 Mariner 40hp MAGNUM. It is a 4 cylinder, oil- injected engine that has 2 re-built carburators, new filter, gas hose and spark plugs. If I pump the bulb and choke it to start it will run briefly, then die.
I have a rebuilt fuel pump to put in. I think that the fuel pump might be the problem.

The manual is on the way and when you have a look, you will see that the fuel pump is not a big deal.
