When filling the tilt and trim on my Evinrude after a few experiments on tring to get more fluid in the cylinder than on myself I found a soultion.
Walmart sells for about 6 or 8 dollars a small hand pump designed for changing the lower unit grease. This happens to screw directly on a quart of Dextron trans fluid and rather than tring to pour the oil into the housing, you pump it with speed and ease.
If you use the more expensive trim fluid in the tubes you can always pour it into a used but clean oil or trans fluid quart container. This really worked great and thought I would share what I found. Also, Thank you to all who posted tips on my questions the last few days.
Ron

Good idea Ron,
I bought a small pump oil can for about $5.00 and use it to service the trim on my '78 Evinrude 175. I use ATF as well.
Bill.......
