I think my 4.3 liter is lacking performance because the ignition is not advancing the timing. I'm not for sure how the Thunderbolt systems work. This system has a module connected to the back of the distributor and a pick up module inside of the distributor. If you have any information on this system, I would appreciate your help.
Thanks

Hi,
Hook a timing light up to no 1 cyl. Stat the motor with a water muff on it. Rev up the motor some, not over 2000 rpm while watching the timeing marks to see if the timing advances. Post back and let us know.
corm

The timming should have a 14 deg advance from
the idle setting which I think is 8 deg. At 2000rpm the timing should be maxed out.
corm
