What is the correct timing setting on Mercruiser 470's and will "newer" motors have different settings than older motors?<br /><br />I had to rebuild 1 of my motors last summer and it has not been running right. My mechanic is telling me that they have been setting the timing on the rebuilt motor to the specs of the original 470 when they should have been setting it to different specs.
