Timing on a 76 merc 850 thunderbolt ignition

So i replaced the trigger plate on my merc and like an idiot i took the flywheel off by taking all the small bolts out of it well good news is the motor now has spark. Mu question is how do you set the timing on it now that i think the flywheel is in ghe wrong position. Thank you

Bring the # 1 piston to top dead center. Align the "0" timing mark on the flywheel with the timing pointer and reinstall the small bolts and you're back in business!
