Timing on a 350 Crusader

What is the appropriate idle timing. Is it 8 degrees before TDC? are crusaders different then any other 350 in this way ?

I suppose that would matter what year & type of ignition.....
But the base timing should be 8* btdc.......​

the engine is a 97 and it has elec ign. no points. It is carbed

The type of electronic ign. is the determining factor. Some have to be put into a base timing mode to set them, and what you set them at means notiing of what the engine will actually run at. It just locks out the advance.
