timing linkage

hi

I have a 40 HP Johnson 2000 j40rlssm. I have been trying to work out why my timing linkage is in a W shape and not a C shape like I see in photos on the net? would you guys know why?

The part is now listed as NLA.------Therefor some one made an attempt at making it.-------Your location ?-----Lots of those available used if you look !---Factory parts usually have a 6 digit number on them, does yours ?

You also need a new timing cam follower roller...
