Timing light for Mercury outboard

Has anyone used this light to set the timing on an CD ignition outboard (84 Mercury 50hp)?

The mercury light is over $100 while this one is only $33.

Nope not a problem a timing light is a timing. There are more advanced one's, that one will work just fine.

I use a $30.00 one from advanced auto.. inductive and does what it should.
