timing belt omc 2.3 ford

Who can tell me the ford part no of the omc timing belt for my omc 2.3 ltr '88. I do know the omc part no. There is already a ford belt on but the no isn't readable anymore.<br />Peter <br />Netherlands

Not sure of the # ,but a lot of the late 80's-early 90's Ford Ranger's-Escort's had that motor have a parts house look them up-Can tell you tuesday if you don't find it before then --Good luck

Pemar,<br /><br />I don't know the part number, however, that belt is no different than the automotive version.<br /><br />Tha engine was used in 88-Ranger, Mustang.<br /><br />It should be an easy find at any auto parts store.

If you still have timing problems after installing the belt, check the pin in the small gear on the end of the distribor. These dist were replaced under warranty for a pin problen.
