Motor: Evinrude 90
Year: 1984
Problem: Tilt sticking in the UP position

I have poured over the net and other post and can't find the answer I need so hear goes. The tilt has stuck twice when the engine was raised higher than I normally do. The first time it did come back down. The 2nd time it did not. We removed the tilt/trim unit while on the lake since I did not know about the manual relief screw and neither did the other 2 guys helping me. We (they) unscrewed a couple of the screws down at the bottom trying to let the pressure out so the tilt valve would go down but obviously that did not work. I have put fluid back in the unit fill hole (with tilt in the down position) and the unit will still pump up, but not go back down, although the pump motor is running. Is there any special priming/purging that I need to do? Is there a valve that is stuck somewhere. I have a suscription to seloconline.com but there are no good details on fixing the tilt/trim pump. Any help will be appreciated.
