tilt & trim

I just bought a 1995 Aquasport with a 88 evinrude. I had it all checked out and the first trip out when I trailered it home the tilt/trim was going off. It doesn't go up or down and only stops making noise when I press the up button. As soon as I release it , it starts the noise again. The model # is xe88tsleoc. I unplugged the switch on the motor and it still keeps going, only by pulling a relay out or cutting off the battery does it stop. Any help ? thanks

MR.G,<br /><br />One of the relays could be sticking or a switch is stuck.<br /><br />Does yours have the trailering switch on the bottom cowl? If so, that's the first switch I would check for sticking.
