I have a 1995 FourWinns 190 Horizon, with an OMC Cobra stern drive. At the very beginning/end of the tilt trim travel the tilt/trim motor squeals. I have ordered a service manual for the boat, but it won't be here until next week, and I really want to take the boat out for the last time this weekend. Can anyone out there help me out on this one.
Brad

Re: tilt/ trim squeal

Forgive me Bradfield, is it possible the 'squeel' you hear may be either air or water amongst the oil passing through the pump?
If it is then drain and refill after searching for leaks.
Ross

Re: tilt/ trim squeal

the squeal is a relief valve opening up to relieve the pressure once the cyl. has ended its travel
