Ok new to the alpha 1, the two chrome lines on either side on the lower unit connecting to the what looks like shocks. Is this for the tilt/trim system or does it ahve anything to do with the steering. Also there are greese serts on the outside of the unit, I assume to greese, but what type of greese and can you use the same on all? thanks

Those are your trim rams, they don't have anything to do with steering. Depending on your model of drive the zerks are for the hinge pins and steering arm and can use the same grease. HOWEVER, some older Merc drives have a grease zerk for the gimbal bearing as well, which should only use gimbal bearing grease (2-4-C).
