What kind of oil goes in the power tilt/trim system? Is this ATF, jack oil, skydrol or some special type marine blend of oil?

Re: Tilt/trim oil?

CaptainPuget,The tilt /trim oil is equivelant to power steering fluid, however I recommend getting product specific oil from dealer or supply house that is intended for use in your unit.

Some t/t units use 30 weight motor oil. My '95 Force does. Most other manufacturers have gotten away from this. Best to provide specific make/model/year info on your motor, or contact a local dealer with the same info.

CaptainPuget <br />If your talking about your Johnson T & T, then you would use power steering fluid or better yet, you can get T&T fluid at Walmart or your dealer.

Thanks all for the responses. I was considering topping off the reservoir with something I had in the garage. Based on the responses I'll just wait until I can get to the dealer and make sure that I get compatible stuff.
