Tilt / Trim Gauge

Can someone tell me on the OMC outboard sending unit does the resistance increase or decrease as the sending unit is pushed down (motor is lowered).<br /><br />I am looking at some new gauges, and some work backwards. I want to be sure this gauge will work with my sending unit.<br /><br />Thanks<br />Bryant

Personally I never gave that much thought. However, if the gauge read backwards, simply reverse the sender wires.

Increases. If you do get a merc gauge for an OMC the low resistance is about the same, but the high resistance is different, 88 for OMC 160 for Merc.
