I have a 2003 Honda Bf225 with the Honda gauge package I believe its made by Faria. This package did not come with a tilt/trim, a got a new tilt/trim gauge but it is not a Honda marked gauge and I believe this one is made by Teleflex. I was told that all tilt/trim gauges are the same, just the senders are differnt. I located the correct signal wire from the wiring diagram, connected that wire, the ignition wire, and ground, as well as the positive for the guage light. Should this guage work? it stays in the all up postition. Is there and adjustment to be made at the sender? Do I need a specific gauge for my outboard? Thanks in advance.
-Mike

Re: Tilt/Trim Gauge

Hi Mike,
You need to get a trim gauge specifically for a Honda outboard. Merc and OMC trims work with a resistive type sender (which are not compatible with each other), Honda has a voltage driven sender that puts out .9VDC at full down and 3.1VDC at full up.
