Years ago I had a tilt trailer. Pull a pin and the boat would tilt up and slide off the trailer into the water. I have been trying to find another like it but no one seem to make them anymore. Does anybody know if they're still made? If they're not made anymore, why not? They were great!

Tilt trailers are handy. I made my trailer into a tilt and it works real well. Sure is nice not to have to back out very far in the water to launch. (14 foot alum) Sorry I don't know who manufactures them.

I have a MagicTilt under my Whaler.<br /><br />They were quite popular in the days before waterproof lighting, Bearing Buddies and bigger, heavier boats.<br /><br />Modern boat trailers are as cheap as they can possibly make them. They don't include any features that buyers wont pay extra for. That includes keel rollers as well as tilters.<br /><br />"Modern" boaters want float-on, float-off trailers that can be safely submerged.

In the 1960's, my family had a marine shop in Connecticut. We sold a lot of tilt trailers made by Holsclaw. <br /><br />Thought they were great. Made launching much easier. Of course, these were 12-16 foot outboards. Sold the business in 1968. Really don't know why they went out of fashion.

They were still being made in '85 cause I bought one. They may still be made by smaller companies.

If you have a welding shop or small trailer manufactor in your area talk to them. They may be able to build you one.

I bought one brand new about three years ago from Continental. It has the tilt feature. I probably should learn how to use it. I tend to treat it like a float on/ muscle off.

The boat/trailer combo I just bougat has a Snowco tilt trailer.<br />What is the tilt for? Never saw anyone tilt to launch or load.<br /><br />I figured if I ever need to tow my motorcycle to the shop, I could use the tilt and a few planks to get me going.
