I have a Force 125 and the ttilt/trim is acting up. The motor slowly drops back down on its own. Is this from the seals on the tilt motor or is the o-rings in the cylinder pistons? Not sure where I should stsrt first. Hopefully it is something quick. Still have water time left and want to try and rectify the issue before it runs out.

Re: Tilt or trim

probably the valve body. You will miss a weekend while it gets fixed. $150ish

If your engine has a 2w trim motor (1988-1992) then putting new seals on electric motor is a cheap way to buy an extra 5-10 years. The motor usually gives out within a year of two of bleed down. Considering the difficulty and expense of replacing motor it just doesn't make sense not to do seals.
