Lots of posts, I know. I cannot find any replacements for my tilt setup. It is a force f420541-1 setup. The valvebody and cylinder are all one piece. Is there another tilt setup that may work or a place to get aftermarket stuff for these? Was gonna try resealing the cylinder but cannot get the head off. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Need year and horsepower - or - picture. I'll help you fix your boat but I'm not tracking down part numbers.

Re: Tilt leakdown

oh, that's an odd one. I have only rebuilt a few of those and do not remember the details. It was a fairly inexpensive repair as long as the motor is good. I remember that except for the ball bearings it uses the same parts as the larger three ram 70-125HP trim. I just can't remember exactly how the internal parts are arranged. I would have to see one first hand to jolt my memory. Sorry that I can't be a bigger help.

Re: Tilt leakdown

It leaks down. I can raise and lower it but if drifting with the motor up it will eventually end up back in the water.

Re: Tilt leakdown

yes, drift down is common. it's the check valve causing your immediate problem. But - as old as your engine is - you should also replace the top seal on the ram. It is old enough that water creeping in is a concern. It will be a real undertaking DIY. Try hunting down 197x evinrude tilt for 65hp and less. It is same system with different paint color.
