tilt and trim

i tilted my engine yesterday to put my flushing muffs on than i tilted it back down and again to remove the muff once i was finished the engine was tilted down into its finally position now today i went to tilt the engine up my tilt is not working when i push the button either on the engine or on the throttle control it just clicks does anyone know whats wrong? engine starts fine and battery is showing "green" in the little charge window also there are no fuses that i can see i have pulled one cover off but no fuses

evinrude 140hp 1990 model i found the relay's in the box i had opened before when i push the botton they just click

jump the relay and see if it works.

A wire across the relay terminals.

i took your advice and nearlly burnt out the wiring i ended up calling my local mechanic he said to follow the wires running from the tilt/trim motor up into the engine disconnect the two wires and hook it up to a battery there is no way u can go wrong as it only reverses the motor i done it and my motor is working i found i had a faulty plug
