I have 1998 Yamaha 225 Salt Water series outboard motor that the Tilt and Trim motor has lost most of its fluid, and now will not raise or lower. The motor is in the down position.
I have verified the relay and motor are operational, and need to raise the motor to get to the hydraulic reservoir, and rebuild the leaking piston.
I have turned the screw on the side of the tilt/trim bracket CCW to manually release the hydraulic system and raise the motor, but the motor will not budge. It is liked it is still hydraulically locked in the down position.
Has anyone had this problem before or know of a technique to be able to pull motor to the up position?
