Tilt and Trim for 270 volvo???

I have a 1885 Bayliner capri with an AQ125B Volvo and a 270 outdrive.<br /><br />I would like to add tilt and trim to the boat and would like to know if any 270's came with it and can it be purchased used somewhere?<br /><br />If anyone has any experience doing this, your input would be greatly appreciated.<br /><br />Also, can any other T&T be used on this outdrive and if so what kind?<br /><br />Thanks for the help!<br /><br />Michael<br />zakiah7

After having Mercruises for years it was the first thing I thought of when I bought my 1972 boat with a 270 Volvo. I am sad to say after a lot of looking I had no luck. The only option was to change the transom shield to one that has T/T. There is a few 270's that had T/T but they are very rare. When you change the transom shield you have to have a outdrive to match it (most times that means a complete Volvo 280 or other outdrive,big bucks). I also never did find a after market T/T at any price. If you are having problems (high bow,getting on a plane) try a set of trim tabs. That is about the only option for these dogs.

I just purchased a 1988 Invader with a Volvo Penta 275. The tilt/trim was not working and I checked the motor and all relays and all work. I then pulled the worm gear and found that it is bent. I need to purchase a new one and can not find one online. It is all electric and was hoping someone on hear would be able to point me in the right direction.
