i just got a 1959 35 HP lark and it has no tiller handle.i am pretty sure this model never came with a tiller hander but is there anyway to make one work with a tiller and not a throttle even if it never came with a tiller.

Re: tiller handle help

If it didn't come with one originally then you would have to change the steering bracket (that's the portion with the front handle) to one that accepts a tiller.

Re: tiller handle help

I once took a 25 hp johnson that was not tiller and made it tiller. I bolted the steering mechanism to the two holes on the bracket where the cables bolted. This was a make shift deal. I then put a throttle cable similar to that on a lawn mower on the end of the steering arm. I also added a mechanism for shifting forward and reverse. It was crude but it worked.
