tight throatle cable

Hi,<br /><br />I have a very tight throatle cable on my 85HP Johnson (hydro-electric shift) <br /><br />Can this cable be lubricated or is it a throw away option?

Bapof<br />I have used anti freeze to free frozen cables. Just remove the cable, coil it up in a 5 gal. bucket and poor in the anti freeze. After doing this they stay free! A light oil could be used, but anti freeze wil mix with water, and prevents rust!<br /><br />Richard
