Ive got a 94 tigershark 640 cc that has very low power. It wont get much above idle in the water, but seems to run ok out of the water. Does anyone know how many psi I should be getting on a cylinder compression check? Carb is clean, engine responds to adjustments of carb, just has no power.

SET: You don't mention things that you may have tried to correct your problem...but you can start with the easy stuff. Replace the plugs with bran dnew ones of the correct type and proper gap. Had similar problem last year with my machine, I was amazed because my old plugs looked perfect, I even cleaned them thoroughly and thought I was in for an expensive repair. Hope this solves your problem.

Re: Tigershark low power

Thanks MrBill for the info. The good news is I found the problem, the bad news is the fact that the forward piston skirt decided to vacate through the bottom of the engine. Oh well, it needed a rebuild anyway, but now I get to bore it out and add some displacement!
