Tick, tick , tick will it blow .... Up

I have a 2001 Yamaha VX150Z. While on vacation last week the engine starting ticking. The noise is on the lower left side around the oil pump.If it was a four stoke I would say the tapets need ajusting.I hoping it's not the bearings. When I purchased the engine new the crack shaft broke after 1-1/2 months.And Yamaha replaced the power head. The next year the engine made the same ticking noise and I took it back but the noise went away.It runs a little rough at slow speed but works fine once you get going.The plugs look fine , maybe a little oil, but I have only run it at slow speeds or in the driveway with the ear muffs.I have have looked over all 31 pages and other than and unfinised topic on June 30/03 (ocean going) no one has listed this problem. Can any one please help!

Does any body know if you can remove the oil injector pump and run on a gas and oil mixture. This way I could hear if the injector pump is making the ticking noise.
