Okay so my coil was arcing from the post replaced everything wires cap rotor coil plugs now after I installed the new cap and rotor the new cap has an vent on it which I I figure was a new design. After starting the motor there's a noise under the cap like the rotor is hitting. The new cap seems like it went down further on the housing then the old one. I replaced it with a Siera part number 18 - 5273.. 1992 5. 7 l sterndrive Bravo. Has anybody ran into this problem? It seemed to go away butbut at higher RPM it was very noisy.

You might be arcing somewhere else. Run the motor at night to see if it shows up
