I think I may have found something!!!!

Check out this other thread .

The module installed in my boat is a V824S.

According to this other thread, the 24S is for a big block.........is the V822 or V824 the right one?

Re: Thunderbolt Ignition Module

Tony,....
That module is used on 4 different SBCs,+ 1 BBC......
Your motor IS 1 of the 4 SBCs......

They're All somewhat Interchangable......

Sometimes,... a V614 is used on Blown Big Blocks when very little advance is needed.........

Although they're All different in the advance curve they produce,.....
Any 1 of them will power your motor.......

I just sent you a scan of the module listings from Dennis Moore's book on Merc./SBCs........
I used the same email addy I have from before.......... ;)

Good Luck....

Re: Thunderbolt Ignition Module

Thanks for the email..........

So, I'm still no where.

Went out today with four adults onboard including myself. Trim tabs not working properly, had a hard time planing off with people in back because I can't push past 3200RPM's. If it was an exhaust leak I don't think it would be at the same RPM all the time.

This has really got me stupmed now if it's not the ignition module.

Bondo, If it were you, which module would you try knowing it's a 4000lb grady with a 1.5:1 outdrive and a 15" prop.

The more I listened to it today it almost sounded like a pinging now..........maybe it's just my imagination because I was hoping this was it.

When the problem occurs I have to back off to ~2800 then I can bring it back to 3200.

I need help!!!
