Thrust washer on my 89 mercury 90hp?

I just got a 2nd hand stainless prop for my 89 mercury 90hp outboard and have a few questions on it.<br />When I removed the old prop it seems to have some kind of washer on it that sat between the lower unit and the prop that had a tapered hole though it for the prop shaft. The taper in this would limit the amount that the prop could slide onto the shaft. (the washer is about ¼ of an inch thick)<br />The new prop seem not to have this and looks like it should have for it to seats correctly. <br />I have owned Johnson’s before that had this and it was called a “trust washer” is it the same thing for my merc? Can I just buy one ? The one on the original prop seems to be suck on and I did not want to damage it or the the prop (as I would like to carry on the boat as a spare). dave-part number 13191a 1 is what you need or aftermarket--sierra#4221 or aqua power#1193. i'm also located in florida-port charlotte on the sw coast.check out our website-gulfcoastmarinecenter.com thanks, bob

Hey, Lake_Time_2, double check and make sure that thrust washer isn't just stuck to your old prop. I had the same engine and the washer would sometimes stick to the prop when it was taken off. I've never seen a prop with a thrust washer made on it.
