thrust washer for yamaha prop on merc outboard

I have a yamaha performance series 14.25 X 16p ss prop I would like to use on my 2001 merc v6 150 carb salt water outboard motor. The thrust washer I have now with my michagan 14.5 X 17p ss prop lets the yam prop seat too low in the housing causing interference. Can anyone supply a part number or suggest a suitable replacement washer so that I may utilize this prop?<br /> John

I machined the Yamaha one to fit the Merc. I used a lathe. You might be able to do it with a hacksaw. The Yamaha thrust washer extends into the bearing carrier and traps fishline in a groove. Cut that off and file it even.

Thanks for the response! I just ordered a yamaha thrust washer. I am a machinist by trade so if it needs modified, it won't be a problem.<br /><br /> John
