Thru Hull plug/fill

My boat had a sink with small fresh water container. This was all old and I didn't trust any of it, it also took up a lot of room. We decided not to put it back in for now. My question is: is there a way to plug the thru hull drain. I don't want to FG it in just encase we change our minds and want to put the sink back in. I'm looking for something that would be solid that I could put in, seal, tighten, and then grind smoother. I know it's going to stick out a little where the nut goes on, but since it's right where we want to have seating I don't want it sticking out 2"s. I hope this makes sense.

I saw this, but it doesn't have a very good description and all I need is one piece.

Thanks in advance,

Assuming it is above the waterline, could you put it to use as a second bilge pump discharge?

Sorry should have added some more details. The sink was about halfway up the boat on the port side. Since I've never had the boat in the water I'm not sure about the water line, but it looks close. If you look at the pick you can see the black drain above the roller. The drain comes through into the cuddy right where the bench seat is. That's why I don't want a lot sticking into the boat, it will be right in the small of your back.

Good looking boat. SBL suggested a drain plug. Sounds like a good idea... You could easily cover it with a cushion. Post some pictures in the cabin where it is and give us more specs on your boat. If you put the specs in your signature, you'll get info more quickly in the future... Just makes things easier.

I agree with SBL..if the hole is not larger then the standard stearn drain plug fitting.

Those fittings are standard Pipe threads..you can get a allen plug for the fitting to make it more flush on the outside "pleasant". the inside has no tubes or fittings there..

But..if it were me I would glass it..

Simple hole saw and 20 secs will bring that sink drain back IF you decide you wanted it..( location too :) ) .
