This past summer I noticed the locking nut on the throttle control cable was not against the adjusting nut on cable. Is there a way to tell if the throttle cable is properly adjusted? At the time I just tightened the locking nut against the adjusting nut on the cable and have been wondering ever since if the cable is properly adjusted. I know it controls amount of throttle on the carborator which controls the amount of fuel to be fed to the engine. Both nuts on the cable are very easy to turn.

Re: Throttle & Shift Controls

The nuts often loosen up and travel back and forth with vibration. The cable cores don't twist significantly, nor do the connectors. The most they could be out of adjustment by that alone is 1/2 turn either way. Wear is far more of a factor.
