Throttle Only question on 1989 Phaser 230

Recently purchased a 1989 Baretta Phaser 230 in great shape and have a question on the throttle control and running throttle in neutral . Has no release disengage button that I can see. Can move throttle but it is in gear and want throttle only. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hard to see in that photo, does it say Volvo Penta in the center?

On some model shifter designs the handle will pull outwards to obtain throttle only control.
