1983 23' ChrisCraft,1993 (approx.)Chevy 5.7L (from a Volvo setup) Alpha 1 drive. The GBM was not quite done with this engine installation before he got too sick to finish, and I'm working my way though it. The throttle cable is attached to what looks like a homemade plate to the carb, but does not move enough to fully open the throttle. The cable moves smoothly when not attached to the carb, but extends forward when the remote control (Morse) is pushed forward. On other boats I've had, the cable attached to the top of the throttle lever and pulled the carb open when the remote control was pushed forward. This one is connected at the bottom of the lever and pushes the carb open. I need another lever device to connect the cable to the throttle that will allow more extension of the cable to fully open the carb. Any ideas, or should I just make a new one from scratch? Or do I need to re-do the remote control also?http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b365/rebars1/7496550-R1-037-17.jpg

Re: throttle linkage problem

Hi Rebars1,......

If you can move the cable attachment point on the Controller Farther away from the pivit point,...
Or,.. the attachment point on the Carb. Closer to the pivit point,.........
You'll get More Travel.........

The Morse controller Should be adaptable, as to whether it Pulls,.. or Pushes.........
