I have an OMC throttle control that came on the boat. My problem is I don't know how to use it???? It is an older model, has a kill switch, key, fuse, two cables and one electrical cable. There is a flip up lever on the housing just below the throttle that has a picture of a book on it.

I have looked on line for a manual but cant seem to find one.

Re: Throttle Control

If it's like mine...... 1985 evinrude 40

One cable goes from the "flip up" lever which is the warm up lever to the engine (outboard side). One cable goes from the throttle(inboard side) of engine. The electrical wire goes from the key to the starter.Pushing the key in activates a primer pump when starting. The fuses is the fuse and there should be a way to adjust the friction on the throttle lever so it doesn't move when underway.

Buy a manual, don't go into this blind.
