I have a 78 Glastron 140hp Mercuiser, the throttle control works fine, it go's into gear, no binding or any thing but when you are cruising the throttle will not hold in one spot. it is called mercontrol, there is no friction knob

Re: throttle control problem

On most remotes there is friction control but on some it is not put in an obvious place (mine is a plain screw).

Do you have the users mnaual for the remote? Should tell if or if not you have one.

It is a much more common problem that remotes are binding too much :)

Re: throttle control problem

I didn't know that it could be a screw, I will have to take a closer look. I have a Seloc manual, it does not cover my control.

Thanks
