throttle cable

1970 40 hp ob
need new throttle cable
do all new cables come with fittings on both ends? some pic don't show in catalog
also, other than $15 is there difference btwn orig and 'Teleflex' replacement?

They do not come with ends!! Remove and re-use your old ones. I can't say about the new orig cables, but it used to be that they came with the wire annealed on the ends so you could properly "kink" it when installing the ends. Teleflex were not annealed and because of that, you couldn't kink the wire and the ends would fall off. That was 20 years ago, like I say I don't know about today. Hey, it's a whole new generation that probably doesn't even remember.

Thanks for the info- I got it at a local shop today and they do have the ends
I?m sure it?s my ignorance but I found a similar pic

the 2nd down on the left is similar- it does have the cable end that is crimped in the final connection
got it on today and had it out- worked well
