Was fishing the other day and decided to fire up and move to another part of the lake.
I moved the lever forward and it did nothing. The engine just sat there idling. Tried reverse. Same thing. I opened the engine cowl and both cables were disconnected. I don't know why the shift lever came end came off but I put that back on and turned the keeper back over it.
The throttle came unhooked because the keeper is gone. The bolt must have vibrated out.
I've been on Mercury Parts Web but I can't find this part in the drawings (see picture).
