Re: throttle cable adjustment
This is not a complex procedure but you really need to make sure the link&sync on your engine was accomplished with the throttle cable disconnected. If it wasn't you just wasted some time. Disconnect the throttle cable and make sure the throttle linkage on the engine is held against the idle stop. The bring the attachment point on the cable end up to the point on the throttle linkage. If the two points do not line up exactly, adjust the trunion (threaded barrel) until they do. DO NOT push or pull on anything. If you do, the adjustment is not correct.
You can also do this the opposite way -- Leave the cable attached but pull the trunion from its anchor point. Hold the throttle linkage against it's stop and adjust the trunion until it aligns perfectly with its anchor point. Again, if you have to push or pull to get back into the anchor point you did it wrong.
In either case, the control box lever must be in neutral and the throttle linkage must be held against the idle stop.
