thoughts on a late 80's Johnson 90hp OB???

I'm in the process of repowering my boat to a 88' 90hp Johnson OB. Any one have any experience with these motors? (buddy had one, previous or currently own one?) <br />I just want to hear some stories to make sure. Thanks.

That was an excellent engine 17 years ago, aristotle. What it is now depends on the care it has had.<br /><br />Good luck.

I'm buying it from a marine shop that has freshly rebuilt it and will be installing it and guaranteeing it for 5 months.
