Re: thought for the day....
I didn't have time before, but I do now
You said, on the Iran thread:
"Nice folks these Muslims. They have such a cheery, uplifting and encouraging message for the world:
"The group said Muslims would be victorious and addressed the pope as "the worshipper of the cross" saying "you and the West are doomed as you can see from the defeat in Iraq, Afghanistan, Chechnya and elsewhere. ... We will break up the cross, spill the liquor and impose head tax, then the only thing acceptable is a conversion (to Islam) or (killed by) the sword."
Maybe all Muslims believe this, maybe not. But until I hear and see Mulsims world wide stand up and condemn these all too common radical views, I will continue to belive the old addage that "silence is consent" and they all really do support those radical beliefs ."
I couldn't agree more. If a crowd stands and watches a rape/murder and does nothing, are not they giving tacit permission for that crime?
The Moslem world must know the worlds perception of their religion. It may be just a few radicals that are perpetrating these terrorist acts and participating in the violent protests, but their religious leaders not only condone it, but add fuel to the fire.
And it isn't a small number that do. After 9/11 there were world wide celebrations that called for more and bigger attacks... yet they say they aren't a violent people.
A quote from a CNN news story:
http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/europe/09/19/pope.turks.reut/index.html
"Employees of Ankara's Directorate General for Religious Affairs, or Diyanet, presented a petition to the Justice Ministry asking it to launch a probe into the Pope's remarks and to detain him when he arrives, the Anatolian news agency said.
They said the pontiff had violated Turkish laws upholding freedom of belief and thought by "insulting" Islam and the Prophet Mohammed."
I've seen 5 year olds with a better grasp of reason than that quote shows... and these people are sitting on most of the worlds oil supply. Iran, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia all support terror Ops. and groups with their oil profits... totally irresponsible actions in a civilized world.
But these are not civilized people, they are 12th century barbarians and should be treated as such.
