I read something about this a few weeks ago but forgot about it. Now there's more coverage. I make the vice admiral's lunch every day because I don't want her eating the garbage they feed them in the cafeteria. It's really quite appalling. I go eat with her occasionally and am always infuriated when I see the trays of the kids who have to eat the school food. They cut way back on their recesses and feed them disgusting slop that can't possibly meet even the most rudimentary nutritional guidelines then wonder why they can't pay attention in class and struggle with obesity. I know nothing is ever as simple as it seems, but I also know when I was in school lunch was something to look forward to, not something to dread.
