This is my last hope! Motor shifting Problem

Hello to anyone who may be able to help me. I have tried several different marine centers, and always end up with same problem. When at idle, if I shift either into forward or reverse, the engine stalls. I have tried raising the idle, worked on the carb settings, adjusted the timing and always have the same problem-it stalls out. The only time it doesn't stall is when I've adjusted the idle up to near 1000rpm and shift so fast and give it gas it throws everyone back into their seats. Any suggestions?

hello Jamie, You have probably already checked for this, but if not, check that there is no fishing line tangled at the rear of the prop, that would be the most obvious cause. terry

My motor is an 86 125hp Force. We just went through heads to check for pressure and all was good, all new lower end so prop is fine. It is a baffling problem that not even the dealerships have been able to solve.
