Can says to use interlux brush ease #433.

Can I use paint thinner or mineral spirits instead? Only going to thin about 10-20%.

Thanks,

don't know the answer, but i wouldn't mess with it. bottom paint is a specialty, and i wouldn't want to screw up what it does. why would you thin it? the thicker the better with an ablative paint.

I'm also confused about why you want to thin it. The paint is there to prevent growth. If you thin it, there will be less protection.

If youre after less protection, just leave it like it was when some of the paint came off the first time. ;)

Besides, less protection means youll be repainting sooner. We're beginning to suspect you just like painting this boat....

Yeah you're on to me. I can't get enough of laying under the boat, contorting my body around the trailer, scrubbing the splatters off my face when I'm done, etc... I love it!

When I rolled the paint on, it seemed very very thick. I just wanted to thin it a little to make it more brushable when I paint the little spots where the blocks are. But I will heed your advice and keep it as is. As much of a suprise as it may be, I AM SICK AND TIRED OF SEEING THE BOTTOM OF THIS BOAT!!!!!

:D

Thanks,

Lol!

This topic brought back memories of the "good ol days" at the marina doing the bottom painting. YUCK!!!
