I test drove the boat and it seemed to handle great and rode pretty well for a 16'. It has the orginal 100HP mercury O/B engine that seemed to run excelent.

I am really just wondering what everyone thinks of these I dont think I have ever seen one before.
Also are there any troubles with these engines (ther than normal wear and tear)?

thanks

These are great boats. They ride well and handle great. I really like the lines and the way they look. However, they have a lot of interior wood that tends to rot, especially if left outside. The gas tank is in the floor and there is a piece of the floor cut out covering it that rots out in the middle stern of the boat. Also look for wood rot at the bow of the boat under the bow cushions.

I recently bought the same boat and am in process of putting in a new floor. I don't really know much about the 100 h.p. Mercury engine but I think they are good and am not aware of any major issues.

Good luck.

I had a 1987 SeaRay Seville with 3.0L Alpha outdrive, it was a great boat, wood rot is the only problem I know of, I traded mine in 2004 on the current boat, one of the guys at the dealer got it and rebuilt the floor and is running it today.

I just bought a 86 Seville 19 cuddy. A buddy of mine had it and he fiberglassed over all the exposed wood to protect it from the rot. I can definitely see where these things would have had trouble from the factory.
