Hello, I am looking at a Sea Ray...1987 19' Seville BR. The pic looks great, price is reasonable, but the drive from here to there is 300 miles.. so.. when I go look at it... and I won't be able to put it in the water.. I am taking a gizmo to hook a hose to it..
Planning to check outdrive oil, engine oil, poke the wood in the transome with a screwdriver, walk over the whole floor.. what else should I look at..
You Sea Ray owners know what thing you've had to care for or watch out about.. Pass on your great wisdom!

Thanks a lot!

I had an 87 Seville BR for about 17 years, open anything you can and check, ski locker, seat cushions, look at the wood under the deck, definately check the floor to see if it is soft anywhere, there is a lot of wood in that boat so you need to check it close. If it was garage kept it may be in real good shape, if it stayed outside it may have been wet a lot. Check the exhaust manifold and riser for rust, look at the joints for signs of rust, ask when they were last changed, water pump impeller in lower unit, when was it last changed, ask for maint records. Check outdrive trim system, make sure it trims up and down properly to the limit switch and then to the trailer postition. There is probably more I just can't think of right now.
