Thinking of a seating rearrangement for my boat.

Guys,
I have been thinking of replacing my back to back original seating arrangement with one where I install the folding back type single seats on swivels, still back to back if I have room. I'm approaching 50 years of age and at 6'4" 250 Lbs I find it a little uncomfortable getting in and out of my driving position. Plus my old seats are installed on the gas tank boxes and have no reclining options.

Anyone here tried this change? Are there better options?

My boat, an 18' Glassmaster Tarpon tri-hull I/O is pictured in my avatar.
Here is a pic although the seats are typical runabout boat seats.

What are you going to do with the tanks? Also, the type of seat you're talking about is pedestal mounted, right? Could be a problem wiith an older floor . . . My .02

bill, what i have done in the past, as like you i am getting stiff. i move the drivers side back, and raised the seats to 10" high boxes,. you can find replacement seats on ebay very reasonable..

how about something like this. Storage on either side of the engine and under the rear curving bench. you can make the bench wings shorter and more the drivers seat back.

QC, I'm thinking more of this type of seat on non-elevated swivels.

The tanks will stay inside the boxes as before, but I will probably rebuild the boxes slightly longer to the rear so I will have an option to lengthen the seating area.

mtnrat, that's the type of seat. Nice boat! :)
